have indicated that her program contains few transitions and far too
many crossovers. Please help me understand what is occurring and how to
fix the problem.
Discuss this issue with your coach and if necessary engage the services of a choreographer to add steps, turns, and other connecting elements to link together the featured jumps, spin, and required step/spiral sequences.
Crossovers are the very simplest method a skater uses to gain speed. Crossovers have little to no value as connecting steps to transition between technical highlights.
They also generally do not help interpret the music or contain choreographic highlights. The best a skater can hope presentation-wise is to do them to the beat of the music.
